 Mexico Directors

Commissioned by Camarillo Christian Church, Alison and Phil Drain moved to El Porvenir in 2005 and live at Niños de Baja.  As the Mexico Directors, they manage the ministry’s operations in Mexico.

The Drains are responsible for assuring the physical health and spiritual growth of the children in the ministry’s care.  They interface with the Mexican authorities, supervise the Mexican staff and administrators, coordinate community outreach programs, and oversee the maintenance of the ministry’s property.  They also plan, schedule and coordinate the work of visiting mission teams.

The Drains have a passion for the Mexican people and culture, and participated in mission projects in Mexico for many years.  They have two grown sons, are retired, and are full-time volunteers (non-paid) for Niños de Baja.

Before they retired, Phil owned and managed an insurance agency for more than 20 years and has strong management and administrative skills.  He is also a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to building projects and automotive maintenance at the ministry.  Alison was a bilingual educator in Southern California, and worked with Spanish-speaking parents and children for more than 28 years.  During that time, she was a teacher, school principal and district administrator

Judy and Darryl are active members of Newbury Park First Christian Church.  Darryl has participated in several short-term mission projects in Mexico and Europe, and Judy is the church Communications Ministry Coordinator.

The Lloyds have three children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  They live in Newbury Park, California with their granddaughter, Andrea, and her children, Joshua and Sydney.  Judy and Darryl are retired and are full-time volunteers (non-paid) for Niños de Baja.
