Summer is always special for us.  We get the opportunity to spend time with wonderful people who come here from all over the U.S. to serve for a week.  They are big-hearted, generous folks who sacrifice vacations to spend long, hot hours working on construction projects or putting on a major VBS for the community, playing with our kids and then mixing it up with the local kids in our "Summer in the Park" program.   We also have the pleasure of hosting the interns, usually college students, who volunteer here.  One of the things we love most about what we do is seeing the impact these mission experiences have on those who step out to serve.  We see faith bolstered, world views changed and decisions made.  Just in the last week, we have heard from two of our interns that this experience has confirmed for them their future in missions.  And one high school student, on his first mission and first time in Mexico, enthusiastically shared that "he will be back"--his time here left a deep impression on him.
 
So it is with very mixed emotions that we share with you our decision to return to the States at the end of the year.  Since 2005, we have had the awesome experience of being a part of something bigger than ourselves, of being able to give back to God, of playing a small role in those whose paths have intersected ours, and along the way, our lives have been blessed, fulfilled and enriched in ways we never could have imagined.  We have had the joy of watching almost 70 hurting children learn to love and trust again.  This has been an incredible five years for us, but we're ready for a rest and time to spend with our family.
