Thirteen months after breaking ground for the new orphanage, after hundreds of hands helped dig, pour cement, raise walls, tile floors, paint, move truckloads of dirt and fertilizer, (and all those many steps in-between) our new children’s home opened on May 1, 2008.
Our new facility is capable of housing up to twenty-four orphaned, abused and neglected children, who are placed with us by Mexico’s social service agency, DIF. We are currently caring for infants and children up to eight years old. The children are thrilled with the expansive bedrooms, activity room and the huge, green lawn that they run and play on. You would never know by looking at their happy faces now, but each child came to us because of severe trauma in their young lives…found during drug raids, abandoned in a park swing, living in a car, parents in prison, severe malnutrition, or physically abused. Their stories are sadly repetitive. Since opening our children’s home in 2006, over 42 of our children have been adopted to Mexican families. We invite you to come to Porvenir and spend some time with our little ones—the love that is poured out on these children by our visiting mission teams has the amazing power to help heal their emotional scars. Come and be a part of it! |

How to help Niños de Baja now!
The NdB Board of Directors voted to pursue acquisition of property contiguous to the lot where the new Intern house is located. It is a double lot with a house that can be expanded in the future, and it is for sale at a very good price. We decided to use $15,000 for the down payment against the $40,000 asking price, and either raise funds and/or seek a no interest, short-term loan for the balance. Any help will be appreciated.
